Ethel ! Ethel !!! It's here !!!!!!!!!

Good morning Blogland Neighbor-hood! We're so excited here at MBIAJ Headquarters cause lookie what the nice UPS gal (yes we have an UPS gal named Peggy Sue who is the nicest , friendliest gal on the planet .... she knows everybody in town and goes out of her way to wave at you from her UPS truck if she sees you walking or driving down the street ..... and she just turned the BIG Hawaii 5-0 yesterday .... I know this because somebody plastered a BIG sign near the bridge that said "Happy 50th UPeggySue ! " .. get it?.. U- P(Peggy)-S(Sue) .... OK ... I got a little off track there .....anyhow, as I was saying ..... lookie what Peggy Sue delivered to my house .....

...."I Love Lucy" fabric!!

....and more "I Love Lucy" Candy Factory fabric !!!

......so, we're really itchin' to get at that fabric and do some sewing, but ....

we've got the usual Saturday "to do" list of chores , etc to do ....I'm proud to say, however, that unlike last year I got the Christmas tree undecorated on Martin Luther King day and Inauguration Day !! Not bad, not bad .... getting that done on January 19th and 20th is an improvement over Feb. 4th !! Anyhow, even though the tree was undressed doesn't necessarily mean it left the building on that same day ....... noooooooo...... even with repeated requests to the male population of this organization, they saw nothing wrong with letting the brown, brittle, drooping tree sit in the living room for just a few more days until they were motivated (by my foot ) to get it OUTTA HERE !!! However, they then felt their work was done .... I requested that one of them (Matt or Evan) vacuum up all of the pine needles all over the floor , then I went upstairs to bring the laundry down ..... and this was the scene I came back to ....

......Matt and his buddy Mark relaxing (Matt with his feet up on the coffee table) watching tv (of course) and Matt's girlfriend, Erin doing the vacuuming !!! .....and do you know those guys had the nerve to tell her to hurry up because they couldn't hear the tv over the vacuum cleaner noise !!!! WHAT !?!?! .....and what, you may ask was Evan doing instead of helping ? ..... well, he apparantly had much more important things to do ........

....like seeing if a plastic slinky would fit around his head .....

Have a good weekend !! Be back soon!

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

Well...my dear, I hope you and Matt's girlfriend purposely made a LOT of noise for a long time after the boys dared to complain about the vacuum interrrupting their TV program!!! That would have taught them a lesson, I think. I love your Lucy fabric....and I'm guessing YOU love Peggy Sue!!! (hahaha...remember that old song...Peggy Sue? I think it was sung by Buddy Holly???) Can't wait to see what you do with the fabric. I'm sure it will be great.

Gah! Men! Too bad you can't marry fabric and have nice little fabric bundle offspring.

Did you ever decide on a haircut? I wanted to tell you that I think you would look adorable in a tapered bob--it would fit your personality--bubbly and cute! You're so adorable!

auntie mare
tomorrow is jenny's birthday and she wanted to do a repeat of what we did on yours. So I am taking five 15 year old girls to that singing diner and then off to the cupcake place. I thought I would buy everyone a cupcake, put a candle in each one, hold them all together in the middle to sing happy birthday, and viola pull them apart to eat them! We are starting off the day at the museum of natural history to go to the Hayden planetarium, and the 500 butterfly room. Wish you could be with us, Love you

I love love love the Lucy fabric! Every time I see it I think about you and your sister going to see the play a few years ago.

I agree with Lisa, the tapered bob would look cute on you. I have one, but it's longer. My hair is so thick that if I cut it short, it will get big! It's short in the back and tapered to a longer length on the sides and front. If you're going to cut your hair you might as well do as Lisa suggested because you are adorable!

By they way, you weren't alone in taking down your Christmas decorations on Martin Luther King Jr's birthday or the Inaugaration Day. I was doing the same thing. I took down all of my Christmas quilts today.

slinky slinky...i wish i could remember the song...i only like the real metal slinky, dont know if they even make them anymore. we stayed home this weekend and did projects...well, mark did projects and i just watched. replaced the ridiculous chandaliers that were in the living room with two more sensible dome lights and replaced the barely working huge florecent in kitchen with larger dome light. the new lights look great. plus a new door from kitchen to back porch that is insulated and has 9 windows in it so can see from kitchen to outside now plus lets more light into kitchen. next weekend it is off to iowa and the 50th anniversary winter dance party...fun fun fun

LOL I'm proud that we got our tree and all of the other Christmas decorations down New Year's weekend. There have been years (yes, more than one) where we've had to hurry and get the tree down because people were coming to our house for Easter!!! LOL

I love Lucy! Can't wait to see what you sew...an apron perhaps?? How's Miss Kitty? She's not made an appearance of late. Is she vacationing in a warm climate?
