At a quick glance, these 2 Christmas tree pictures look pretty much the same ..... and to the innocent bystander, you would probably think the pictures were taken on the same day , or maybe just a day apart ..... and , also to the innocent bystander, you would naively believe that these pictures were taken before Christmas, or at the latest, a couple of weeks after Christmas. However, here at MBIAJ (Moonbeams in a Jar) we pride ourselves on complete lack of being able to get our act together and follow the socially accepted rules of holiday decorating (see our previous post on Hallowthanksmas) So.... the truth now comes out ..... the second picture was in fact taken about a week BEFORE Christmas (I know, a little late to just be starting the decorating process, but still sort of acceptable..... sort of .....). The first picture was taken ......... (drum roll please ......) two days ago !!!!!! YES!!!! YOU HEARD ME ...... TWO STINKIN' DAYS AGO ..... as in FEBRUARY STINKIN' FOURTH !!!! .......sigh.....at least I brought the empty boxes up from the basement that all the decorations go in .... and there they will stay until the Holiday UNdecorating Dept gets around to putting all that stuff away ..... or until the tree just keels over by itself .... in which case it would probably just lay there on the living room floor like a beached whale for another month ......
Anyway, it just doesn't sit well with the MBIAJ Holiday Decorating Dept to let a holiday slip by without some sort of decorating ......and since holiday combining has somewhat become our specialty here at MBIAJ, we present to you the ........(another drum roll please .......) Christmastine Tree ..... OR the Noelentine Tree .....TA DA !!!
OK ..... so we just threw some of that Valentine garland on the half dead Christmas tree .... we never said alot of thought went into it .... we're NOT Martha Stewart, after all ..... SHEESH !!!!
.....Oh for Pete Sake .... now the Holiday Decorating Dept is sulking .....let me go order a case of Ring Dings for them for lunch .....
... Anyhow, while I do that, if you didn't get to sign up for my give away, just zoom down the page to the very next post and leave a comment ..... and don't forget to hop around Blogland to the other gals' blogs who are having give aways (I posted some of their names in my previous post also.) ..... and a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who left comments .... WOW !!!!!
Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

I have been contemplating the Valentine issue myself. It is a week away do I drag out the stuff or just not even bother this year. But at least I do have Christmas down. Your blog all ways brings a smile to my face.
Please, Please, Please tell us that this is NOT a live (now dead) tree!!! I am worried!!!
If I was closer, I would come help, or maybe just do it for you.lol
You are not alone! Well, I have a faux tree, but after Christmas it because the snowpeople bungalow (this takes me through February). Now if I could only figure out an Easter Egg theme on a fake pine tree. Cheers.
Heh heh...a classic. Thanks for sharing. (And I thought I was bad because I still haven't vacuumed up a few stray Christmas tree needles...)
I think having an evergreen tree up all winter is perfectly reasonable. It seems the ecological thing to do, I mean using every drop of goodness from it.
Oh, man, too funny! I am still holding my sides from laughing.....
OH NO YOU DON'T!!!! I am laughing so hard at you and your tree. A couple years ago I left my tree up till April I think it was. I just couldn't get in the mood to take it down. ROFLOL
