The POWER of fabric !!!!!

UGH !!!!! It was another cold, bleak, blah winter day here at MBIAJ Headquarters.  Just look at that gray, cold day outside the window where poor, lonely Betty sits day after day waiting and hoping for somebody around here to have some time to spend sewing with her .....preferably a project with some cheerful, sunny fabrics ..... this !!!! AHHHHH ......that's better ..... looks much more cheerful now with those bright sunny fabrics !!!! And,  those sunny fabrics must have some kind of power because not only did they brighten my mood, .......

..... they made the SUN come out !!!!  REALLY !!!

SUNSHINE !!!! Certainly does wonders for one's disposition !!!

Speaking of adjusting one's disposition,  how about some instant gratification with a quick project .  These sunny cheerful fabrics are coming together to make a doll quilt at the request of my 7 year old niece for her new American Girl Doll.

Ummmmmmmmm...........somebody looks guilty here ...... I left the room for a split second and Daisy decided to rearrange the quilt rows for me ....(yikes!  there were a couple of straight pins in there somewhere!)

.....well before any boo boos were incurred by Daisy, or any damage done to the fabric,  the quilt rows were rescued and now will have to wait patiently to be sewn together til the next time I decide to blow off another Sunday paperwork/laptop marathon day (hopefully sooner rather than later !)  I cannot tell you how a few hours of FABRIC THERAPY perked me right up ! .... and a quick project with instant gratification  ...... PERFECT !!!!! :)
Be back soon ! (hopefully with a finished doll quilt!)

Mid February slump ......

Hi everybody out there in Blogland ...... is it just me,  or is anybody else feeling like they're in a slump ?   Maybe once the weather warms up and the snow and ice are gone for the year ..... and the birds start chirping and the flowers start blooming again I'll be able to haul myself out of this BLAH slump I'm in ......  maybe I'll start (yet another) project with some fresh cheerful spring fabrics  ...... or maybe I'll buy (even more) fabric ......
Well, be back soon!

Happy Valentine's Day !

Happy Valentine's Day from our MBIAJ Queen of Hearts herself !!! .......

........who , on closer inspection, appears to be a bit irked that NO SEWING has gone on here at MBIAJ Headquarters for WAY TOO LONG !!!!    (the day job  ..... keeping me away from my poor lonely fabric and sewing machines !  I'm afraid they won't remember me when I finally get a little break from the craziness of the day job  ...... I'll have to tell Kitty to show them my picture every once in awhile so they don't forget who I am .......)
Be back soon !

The month for hearts ......

So here we are in February ..... all ready ! It's the month for hearts ...... all kinds of cute Valentine and heart projects and crafts are popping up all over blogland . Not only is it the month for crafty cute hearts, it's also the month for real hearts. Time for my CPR recertification ..... every 2 years in February.

So, since I'm reviewing and studying CAB (compressions, airway, breathing) this week, I thought I'd recycle some of my Valentine projects from the past few years (some of the projects that I've actually finished !!! )

Like these little tags .......

...that I spiffed up plain candles with.

.....and this Valentine goody bag with a removable heart brooch .

.....and this little mini embroidered decoration/ doo dad .

...and the burlap , felt and yo yo garland.

There are actually a few more of mine, plus ALOT of other really really ADORABLE Valentine projects from other bloggers and crafters on my Hearts  Pinterest page if you're looking for some heart stopping inspiration !  (remember CAB ..... compressions, airway, breathing ....... in case the cuteness and inspiration is too much for you!)  Enjoy!

Back to the studying ........
Be back soon!
