I "Heart" hydrangeas !!!!!

My heart goes pitter patter and my breathing comes in short gasps when I see hydrangeas! They're gorgeous in the summer, but...... come Fall, they're breath taking !!!! I finally clipped these beauties from my hydrangea tree over the weekend. I tied them in 2 bundles and hung them upside down to dry (that's a former pot rack that they're hanging from -- we used it in the kitchen of our old house, but had no place to put it in our new house -- at least not in the kitchen -- so, right now it's being used as a display rack for some of my hankie collection -- compliments of my mother and grandmother). I have a feeling, though, before my hydrangeas are completely dry, they may end up in shreds on the floor -- seems certain family members with 4 paws, a tail and fur coats think those hydrangeas are kitty toys...... anyhow, IF the hydrangeas survive the drying process, I was thinking of making this wreath from the October issue of Country Living Magazine (below the picture, where it has "1->12", click on 12 and you'll see the wreath). (hmmmm...... we'll see!)

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

Your pictures are beautiful. They are nice in the summer but they are beautiful in the fall. I agree.

I can not agree with you more..we heart hydrangea too...we worked an entire wedding theme around them. Most of my posts have a hydrangea lurking in the background...They are like a gift from the mother nature in the summer to enjoy for the rest of the year! Susan

Your hydrangea's are beautiful. I have a hydrangea bush. I've had it for a couple of years, but it has never bloomed. Maybe next year. I went to the Country Living website. It is a beautiful wreath. I would have never thought to put hydrangea's with fall leaves.

Thanks for the Snickerdoodle recipe.

I love hydrangeas, too! I have several hydrangea bushes in my yard, and they just get prettier every year!
Your photos are beautiful, and I want to live in that room - heavy sigh!

We have a small yard but it is full of hydrangeas. We have some of them cut in water in the house and darn if they didn't sprout roots. So now we may have even more hydrangeas. My mom likes them blue but I like them pink so we have some of each.
