New York Weekend ......Fabulous Dahhhhhlings !!!

Good morning Blogland Neighbors!! Well, I'm back from my whirlwind FABULOUS Girl's Weekend/Birthday Bash in New York City ..... and WHAT A GOOD TIME WE HAD!! It started out Saturday morning with our drive to Jersey City .....

....my sister, Boop (aka Karen) was our driver (and entertainment .... here she is belting out a tune, I think ..... either that, or she was actually amazed that we spotted NYC off in the distance .... I was the navigator....)

.....and, in the peanut gallery we had.....
...Boop's kiddos, Maura and...

....Erin, the assistant navigator ......which made us happy to find ....

.....this Bieber Bus to follow as far as the Holland Tunnel!!! (now, it would have been a heck of alot easier for us to be ON that Bieber Bus .... and let the bus driver , who knows where he's going, do the driving .... but it would have been much more expensive and just not as interesting!! ) Anyhow, we parted ways with the Bieber Bus when he headed towards the tunnel and we sweated out finding our exit into Jersey City. After wandering around Jersey City for awhile, we found the parking lot which was more than 3/4's empty ..... so Boop asks the parking lot guy where she should park .... and he says "anywhere" ... so she starts to pull into a parking space and he says "not there" ..... so she heads towards another space and he says "not there" .... she finally got it right on her 3rd try (apparantly you can't just park "anywhere"!). So, we got our stuff out of the car and I asked the parking lot guy how to get to the PATH train (which is actually a subway) .... as I'm asking him this, we're facing many large city buildings .... and he says "go past that building " .... and I say "which building" .... and he says "that one" .... to which I respond "the brick one?" .... he says " No, that one" .... I say " which one? the one in the middle?" ..... he says " No, the other one"....to which I point and say "that one?" .... he says "NO, the only one there" ....(all this time my sister, who has her back to us, is having a difficult time containing her snorting and laughing at this ridiculous attempt of me just TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH FREAKIN' BUILDING THIS GUY MEANT !!). ANYHOW, we finally found the PATH train and rode that thing standing up , holding onto the poles (all the seats were taken) while it whizzed and rattled it's way into NYC where we staggered off and walked back up the stairs into daylight .....
...here's Boop calling Lori (our sister-in-law) who is waiting for us at our hotel .... but, we can't figure out which way that is.....

....oh! here's a clue .... MACY'S !!! (as in the movie "Miracle on 34th St."!) .... this must be 34th St! Lori tells us the hotel is on 49th St ..... 15 blocks..... no problem .... we can walk that......and we did .... barely.....and along the way we saw .....

....the Statue of Liberty (well, not the real one...)

....we finally dragged ourselves into the hotel, and were glad to have the help of ...

....this nice man (I don't remember his name .... let's just call him Sam). Sam delivered us and all of our stuff safely into the hotel lobby where we were met by the rest of the Sistas!!!

....and here we all are!!! Let me introduce you (from left to right) my sister Boop, best pal Bethy's daughter Jenny, Boop's daughters Maura and Erin, best pal Bethy, yours truly, nieces Stephie and Katie, and their mom, Lori (my sister-in-law)...(Katie, Stephie and Lori flew in from Florida for my NYC Birthday Bash ! ....and to go purse shopping ....)

Well, this was just the start of our adventures in NYC .... lots more pictures to show, but right now I've got to get my carcas moving and get to work ..... stay tuned ..... to be continued tomorrow......

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

That would POCKETBOOK shopping, which is the word that I mistakenly said to the other gal pals as a man with a suitcase came up to me at 1 a.m. and wanted to know if I was interested in looking at the designer items in his suitcase. I received allot of flak from my sistaaas when I used the POCKETBOOK word... gee whiz
