Hmmmm.....what to read next? (or what's on your night stand?)

Good morning Blogland Neighbor-hood! It's another absolutely GORGEOUS day here in our neck of the woods ..... blue skies, sunshine and NO humidity .... PERFECT !! Anyhow, as you can see from the leaning tower of books on my night stand, I like to read. And, like the ever growing fabric collection and quilt/sewing ideas, there is just no way on earth that I will EVER get to read all of the books that I have ......AND, would you believe that SOME people in the Bill Paying Dept around here (who go over the budget with a fine tooth comb) think too much $ is spent on books and fabric ..... and to them we just ......

....stick out our tongue behind his back !!!!

So, anyhow this is the book I just finished....

I just love the way Jan Karon writes ... makes you feel like you're in Mayberry .... my kinda town! I've read all of her books in the Mitford series and this is the first one in the Father Tim series (I think)...

....and here are some books I picked out for Fall reading .... you know with that Halloween/ witch kind of vibe ......

BUT .....before I read those books, and because it's only September, I think I'll read ....

......this book and .....

.....this magazine first !
(however, practically speaking .... more than likely, I'll still be reading these FAR past the Halloween season .... and the Christmas season for that matter and then I won't get to my "October Books" until about the 4th of July !)

Be back soon !!
Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

I'll have to look up Jan Karon in our statewide library system. They have pretty much everything and I put the books on hold and read them as they are available. I, too, have bought MANY books and will never get to read them all. *sigh* I try to get the ones from the library now in LARGE print......the old eyes aren't what they used to be, unfortunately.

Ohhhh Mary Anne! I loved the Jan Caron book "Home to Holly Springs!" Adored her Mitford Series too!!! They all made me feel like I was living right there amongst all those wonderful folks she created! LOL at Mr. MBIAJ questioning your purchases ... just keep sticking your tongue out at him (LOL).

I'll see your stack of books and raise you ten. Isn't reading such a joy. I loved the Jan Karon series and can't wait for a new one.

I had to laugh, I have one of those in the "bill-paying dept" myself. And I DO stick my tongue out at him just like that!

I do have a serious book & fabric addiction too. The hubby is actually very patient with me. He's been convinced to read a few of the books I've discovered in my wanderings. (He likes to read too, so it's not all altruistic on his part.)

One of my favorite authors is Diana Gabaldon, we even used a passage from one of her books (Outlander) in our wedding vows.

Never apologize for being an avid reader - keeps the mind young!

Home to HollySprings looks interesting. I have a hard time finding books that keep my interest. You've got some good ones there on your nightstand.
