"This One's For the Girls !"

This past Friday night I got to go to a Martina McBride concert !!!!!

Compliments of ....

.....my sister Boop (aka Karen)...... well actually she and I were treated to the concert compliments of Danny, her almost 16 year old son. Danny is quite the smarty and made Principle's List at school ..... and because of that he won 2 tickets to the Martina McBride concert this past Friday night. Well, Martina McBride isn't quite his speed ..... AND it's unbelievably UNCOOL for an almost 16 year old basketball dude to be seen at a Martina McBride concert with his MOTHER .... so, he opted for the movies and tossed the concert tickets to Boop and me ! ..... so we rocked out to "This is for all you girls about 42 (or more) ... tossing pennies into the fountain of youth ....This one's for the girls !"

Since it's almost an hour and a half drive back to my house from my sister's house, I just stayed over ...... and she thought it would be funny to take a picture of me first thing in the morning .... BUT as luck would have it , there was a Betsey Ross "disguise" handy .... (wasn't too helpful....)

....here's my niece Erin, the owner of the "disguise" looking much cuter in it than me....

....BUT, look how fetching her dad looks in the "disguise" ..... it's been awhile since he's had to deal with that much hair.... (he's definately one good sport!)

......ANYHOW, in addition to concerts and disguises, my sister happens to live close to ....... (drum roll please.....) TWO GREAT QUILT SHOPS !!!!!! ..... so, there was SHOPPING !!!! (was there ever any doubt?!?)

..... the first one is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere ....

...... BUT that doesn't stop lots and lots of quilters from finding it! This is Ladyfingers Sewing Studio owned by Gail Kessler (the fabric and pattern designer, AND Marketing Director for Andover Fabrics) in Oley, Pa. .... And don't let that old 1860's building fool you, 'cause inside you'll find lots of the latest fabric and gadgets !!!

....So, after I over indulged in fabric, etc at Ladyfingers Sewing Studio, I hopped in my car and drove down the country road a piece to a little more populated area to this quilt shop.....

... this is the Quilter's Palette ...... where I also "overindulged" in fabric, buttons, and wool ..... what? oh.... you want to see what I bought? ...... okee dokey !

......some "Quiltmania" magazines and .....

.......Need'l Love Flower Bed Threads pattern book.

.......and fabric, fabric, FABRIC !!

.....can you tell by these fabrics that I'm REALLY REALLY READY for SPRING !?!

......but WAIT ! There's more !!! ...... buttons and wool..... wool and buttons .... in pretty SPRING colors !!

...oh, and this is a cute mug my sister just gave me .... because, like fabric, a girl can never have too many mugs (especially one with a cat wearing a tiara) ....to hold the all important caffeinated hot beverage that accompanies the quilting/sewing /magazine looking at process...

....YIKES ! that was one LONG post !!!! ... and I have now frittered away a good chunk of my designated grocery shopping time .... uh oh .... and the cupboards are bare and it's time to come up with something to feed "the team" (.... they get pretty mean when they're hungry!) ...... GOTTA GO !!

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)
