Quilt Retreat / PJ Party !!!

Tomorrow, Saturday March 15th is National Quilt Day......so.....over on Pat Sloan's blog she is having a Friday -->Sunday online quilt/sewing retreat ..... WITH PRIZES !!!!YEAH!!!

......and, as usual.....I'm running a little late ....but HERE I AM !!! all set for the late night sewing/PJ party !!!!

......and, what, you might ask, is that blue furry thing on my head .....

.....it's my sparkly sleep mask, like all the diva celebs wear .... wait, I'll show you how it works ....

.....OK, so now I can't see what I'm taking a picture of.... and those little blue feathers are going up my nose.....

.....anyway ...... how about those pigtails?!.....this is not my usual hairdo.... just my PJ party hairdo ..... and Lisa Boyer Miss Cute New Haircut, if you're reading this ..... talk about a HAIR EMERGENCY !!!!UGH! Now I'm really looking too much like Mary Anne on Gilligan's Island!!

...OK,OK .... enough about the hair .... back to the business at hand ....

FIRST of all, I am IGNORING this .... (and trust me ... this is just the tip of the iceberg....). Everybody else around here seems to have overlooked the mess in the kitchen and has gone off to dreamland ......so I'm also pretending to be oblivious to it! (oh, but it'll be there waiting for me tomorrow morning .....)

......OK, we'll get off that subject and get back to the fun stuff....

I've lined up some goodies of the salty and chocolaty variety (but all in little portion controlled packages ..... which, theoretically will keep our portions controlled ..... unless of course we scarf down the entire box .....or boxes ...)
....

.....AND, what is a PJ party without some "Chick Flicks"? (since it's pretty late I'm just going to work on some hand stitching tonight and vegetate in front of the boob tube) .....anyhow, here are some of my picks for tonight ....

.....AND .....here's my project for tonight ....
......I know what you're thinking ..... "for PETE SAKE !!! Just FINISH that darn thing, will ya !".....OK,OK I'm working on it !!!! but first, I think I'll make some popcorn .... anybody else want some ?

.....and , stay tuned for tomorrow's episode of "Day 2 of Quilt Retreat Weekend" .... which for me, will be interspersed with piles of stinky laundry and piles of equally stinky left over paperwork from my job .....

....Ohhhhh .....the popcorn is done!

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

You're too funny! Yes, you look a little like Mary Anne from Gilligan's Island. That's okay as long as you don't look like her mug shot from being in jail.

The snacks look great! I made chocolate chip cookies, but I forgot to shoot their picture. I'll have to make some more today, darn it, so I can post a picture of my snacks!

My chick flick I found at Target. It is three movies in one box. French Kiss (Meg Ryan), Never Been Kissed (Drew Barymore) and One Fine Day (Michelle Phiefer and George Clooney).

Have fun!

Mare, Mare, Mare....
Every time I think you can't out do yourself...you prove me very wrong! These last 2 posts, with the funny "want to be a fish song" in the back ground, make me laugh uncontrollably. You must have so much fun hanging out with yourself.
If I had tried to put those bunny ears on my cat, there would have been blood smears on the camera lens. Good luck on your pj party! Can't wait for updates. Love Stacy

I just love your blog!
I was up very early this morning when I "popped" over from the Sloanie board and the Bing Crosby song made me smile. It remimded me so much of my grandmother, the next was Dean and that was my grandfather. Thank you for alowing me some wonderful memories at 5 in the morning!

The 100 calorie shortbread cookies packets are to die for dunked in coffee or tea, it's hard not to open several.

I agree with the How to Make an American Quilt chick flick, but also a fav is Out of Africa - the music gets me everytime.

Hope the sewing is going great!

I'm having so much fun sewing and thinking about us quilters having a National holiday. Then I started thinking about Pat Sloan and how much fun she is that I decided to do a giveaway! I guess I just want to spread the joy!

I came downstairs and hour ago for a coffee break. I got sidetracked about the giveaway, and all. Now I'm going back up with my chick flicks. Next break, I'll make chocolate chip cookies!

You are soooo silly! How on earth are you going to quilt with the pretty blue feathered eye shades on? I have to say though, that you really do know how to throw a slumber party! Susan
