The last full day of winter.... or at least that's what the calender says....

Well, I know alot of you California blogger girls have been posting pictures of flowers blooming or about to bloom in your gardens. As you can see from the picture of my house I took today, that's NOT the case here in northeast Pa.. BUT, the calender says Wednesday is the first day of spring (the weather guy says spring officially starts Tuesday evening, but Wednesday is the first full day of spring ) -- so, anyhow, that means on Wednesday when I get up all that white stuff in my yard will be gone..... right?

Since it wasn't an outside gardening kind of day, I stayed inside with my furry kittie kids (all stretched out and cozy in front of the fireplace) and made a double batch of scones. (Love that apron --- I found it at one of the cute shops in town -- oh I know -- how about we'll do a little walking tour /picture tour of Jim Thorpe when the weather gets more cooperative? )

Well, now that I piddled around all day taking pictures and baking -- reality is setting in and I realize I need to get to all those fun chores I ignored all day -- lets see, there's the overflowing litter box, the overflowing kitchen sink, the overflowing laundry hampers, the overflowing desk of paperwork, ........ where's Alice (from the Brady Bunch) when you need her? Wouldn't you love to have an "Alice" do all those mundane chores everyday so that after dinner you and Mr Brady could get up from the table , not clear even 1 single dish or help any of those kids with homework, (or do any yelling to turn down the music, get off the computer, take your shower, do your homework !!!) and walk arm in arm up the stairs to the peaceful sanctuary of your perfectly kept bedroom where you get to read in bed , not be disturbed, and your hair and makeup are perfect ? Hmmmmm.......

Well, anyhow, back to reality !!!

Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

Hi, Mary Ann!

Your home is beautiful. The snow makes me miss PA. I loved it there. I am going to have to try out your recipe for the scones.

Yes, life would be great if we lived in the world of "perfect". I know you're like me, though; yes life gets a little hectic and sometimes crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
