FNSI ~~ not exactly done ......

Well, my "Friday Night Sew In" plans didn't go quite as planned ........ So, pretend I actually had time to sew last night ...... this is what my finished project would look like if it were actually sewn together .........

.......and this is what it would look like if it were actually sewn together and had a pretty candle sitting on it !   However ......

.......this is what it still looks like .......(sigh).  Well, maybe next time right ?    OK ,  gotta zoom out the door to work.

Friday Night Sew In !!!

    YAY !!  It's Friday Night Sew In time !!!  So,  as usual, I'm signing up late ..... cause I got in from work late ...... and still have tons of day - job work to do tonight yet  .....but, maybe, JUST MAYBE I'll be able to squeeze in some  sewing .......

......more than likely around 2 AM (not sure who the quilter /artist is for this very realistic depiction of us night owl quiters  - was posted on "Quilts and More" facebook page ..... but I LOVE it !!! It's SO me !!!)

 So, here's the plan ...... spend about another 2-3  hours on my work laptop until about 11 PM or midnight ..... THEN,  do some jumping jacks to wake up ...... THEN,  make another cup of tea (high test) ...... THEN,  sit down at my sewing machine to put this little (already cut out x about 2 years)  springy wool felt project together before I fall asleep and have to get up for work again tomorrow ........ugh!     That's the plan anyway ...... so, we'll see .....

It's little ..... and it's FINISHED !!!! (Instant Gratification Sunday !)

Well, thanks to World Wide Quilting Day yesterday,  I was feeling justified in having a therapy session with my sewing machine to finish up a little doll quilt for my niece.  I LOVE doing little projects like this ... so fun  AND lets not forget the instant gratification of actually being able to finish something !!! (a concept that often escapes me). 

....... and I've been hoarding .....er, holding onto that darling bumble bee fabric just waiting for the perfect project ..... I love it with the turquoise polka dot binding ...... sure hope Hannah thinks so too ! (Hannah is the name of the doll who is tapping her foot waiting for her quilt).

World Wide Quilting Day !!!

C'mon gang !!!  Fire up those sewing machines because ......

 ......today is "World Wide  Quilting Day" !!!

...... and this is for all the significant others out there who can relate to this cartoon ...... (and for you quilters, here's a little tip :  if you scatter your stuff/stash in various locations throughout the house and in the trunk of your car, it doesn't look like you have as much as you really do  ......I've operated this way for YEARS !!!! ....... you're welcome ).

......... and, in honor of World Wide Quilting Day ,  I decided to blow off another Saturday afternoon chained to my work laptop and do some machine quilting and binding on this little doll quilt (a MUCH more enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon I might add !!!)

Blog Hop Party starts TODAY !!!!!

 WELCOME Blog Hoppers !!!! Today is the start of the Blogger's Hop Party !!!  (and I'm also celebrating my 6 year Blog Anniversary !!) ...... You can never have enough ........(fill in the blank)

 .......quilting, sewing , stitching books !  (and this is just the tip of the iceberg! ).  These are some of my current favorites and newest aquisitions ).

 When I get a new book like these, after I drool all over the pretty pictures , I get my pink (or yellow or orange or blue) Post It notes and mark the page(s) of the gazillion projects I now want to make, or the technique I've been looking for that will make my sewing life more efficient and fun.  As you can see there are many ........

 ........ this is my most recent addition to the pile ...... and as you can see, I'm busy putting a Post It note on just about every page because I LOVE THIS BOOK !!!!!  (sigh)  My instant gratification for this week !
