Good afternoon Blogland Neighbors! I've been trying to change my blog over to my new email address ..... so this is an experimental post ..... and I'm sincerely hoping I don't totally screw the whole thing up and lose it all in outer space!
.....and, so not to totally bore all of you (and to see if the pictures come up on here) I grabbed my camera and went outside to take a picture of .....
......this guy....he's been hanging around in the potted plant at the foot of our front porch steps for a couple of weeks .... through rain and wind and plant waterings .... he's pretty resiliant I must say.... it looks like he'll be staying for awhile so maybe we should name him ....(I'm not sure he's a him .... I suppose he could be a her....)
Well, whatever ..... now on to the next bit of trivia on our agenda ....I was out doing some shopping at Walmart yesterday and I came across this.....
.....a GIANT tea cup (talk about your Big Gulps!).... actually, this was in the gardening dept because it's a planter .....and at first I was going to put it on the porch with a pot of yellow mums in it , but then I thought it would look cute in the kitchen holding fruit .....hmmmm, maybe I'll go get another one and put that one on the porch with the mums in it..... I know, such riveting decisions ..... giant tea cup on the porch.... giant tea cup in the kitchen .... or both..... and maybe I should take the oranges out of that red plastic net bag thing they came in .... ouch! more decisions..... my head may just explode!
Well, time to throw dinner together! Be back soon!
Toodles,
Mary Anne (aka Mare)

oh i saw these teacups at walmart.
i never even thought of putting them in the house to hold fruit.
you're SO clever.
:D
I love the giant teacup! It's an adorable fruit bowl. I'd say get two!! You never know...Miss Kitty might crash into it.
Charlotte's web is coming along quite nicely.
Man! I can do w/o spiders that are huge enough to put a saddle on... but LOVE your huge tea cup! That is adorable!
I am not all that found of spiders...eek! But the teacup is awesome!
I like the way you used your teacup planter in the kitchen. My daughter bought me that same planter at Wal-Mart and mine is on my deck. I bought a smaller version of it only in polka dots instead of stripes. It's got a small begonia in it on the front porch. Fun planters!
Neat spider and love the tea cup!

I would like you to start teaching/working at your favorite local quilt shop! We are having a fall folage weekend the last weekend of September and I would love to put you on the schedule for a workshop.
Check out my new laptop cover on my blog www.the-quiltery.blogspot.com
That type of spider is a garden spider. We used to get them in our mailbox when I was a kid. We'd bring the mail in and put it on the table and surprise! A big spider would run out.
Thanks you so much for posting the pic of the planter and stating where you got it from. I saw it in a photograph and MUST have it! Sad thing is I live in NYC (ie no Walmarts) and a friend (with a car) just took me there today!! Ouch!! But now at least I know where to find this! Thanks so much!!!
Where can I purchase this.. My neighbor "had" one at the bottom of our steps and I broke it
