One World One Heart Blogland Extravaganza !!!

Well good Friday morning Blogland Neighborhood !!!We here at MBIAJ Headquarters are happy to be participating in the One World One Heart Blogland event, hosted and created by Lisa Swifka of Whimsical Bohemian. This is a world wide Blogland event where (so far) 796 Blogland neighbors are participating ! The idea is to meet and visit with Blogland neighbors living all over the Blogosphere planet. Each participant also has a fun give away prize that you can win by leaving a comment on their blog. The drawing for all prizes is on Feb. 15th. The theme for this year's "One World One Heart" extravaganza is "Riding the Magic Carpet". Well, Kitty , being the extreme sports enthusiast that she is.......




....has been riding around on that thing for the past week! She tells us she's getting pretty good at the flying part, however....





.....she hasn't quite perfected landings and parallel parking .....

well....looks like Kitty has some 'splainin to do to the cops and may be busy for quite awhile so why don't we just sneak back to Headquarters and the MBIAJ Sewing Dept can show you what they made for the give away ....

Valentine Sewing Party Evening Report .......

Good evening Blogland Neighbor-hood. Kitty is making her evening rounds to hear reports from all departments....Seems the Laundry Dept got quite a few loads of smelly socks taken care of; the Kitchen Dept made and cleaned up 2 or 3 meals (not sure.... it was kind of a blur since one meal runs into the next....); the Litter Scooping Dept scooped poop out of all litter boxes; the Paperwork Dept piddled around as usual and only finished 1/4 of their stack of paperwork left over from Friday; and the Sewing Dept was distracted, as usual, by the stack of pretty fabric that they were supposed to ignore until ....




this wool hearts project is finished ..... and INSTEAD....



...played around with colored pencils drawing stuff that maybe SOME day they might want to make with the pretty fabrics ....









.....Kitty is NOT amused ... she's muttering something about people NOT following orders and "heads will roll" ... uh oh ....

Well, tomorrow's another day ....will there be any more hours in it than today?

Just movin' on to......the Valentine Sewing Party !

Good morning Blogland Neighborhood !!! Kitty has traded in her Santa hat for her Valentine Queen of Hearts Crown and decided that with the completion (FINALLY) of ....



Evan the Moonbeams Boy Dirtbike Racer/Drum-mer/Chef in Training's chef apron that goes with the chef hat (hat was finished for Christmas .. apron? well, last night ....hey, here at MBIAJ Headquarters, if it's finished before the spring thaw, it's still a Christmas present!)



ANYWAY, Kitty feels that with the chef apron and hat crossed off of the Christmas Sewing List , the MBIAJ Sewing Dept should just put the rest of that list on the back burner (again) and JUST MOVE ON !!!! So, with that, she has crumpled up that list and ....


....tossed it behind her .... and is now gathering up some fun Valentine fabric for the sewing dept to get busy and participate in ....

...this half finished Valentine project since it will (hopefully) be participating in


the "One World One Heart" blog event which is the brilliant idea of the Whimsical Bohemian and starts this Monday January 25th.

Crafty helpers (& shoppers) UNITE !!!!

Happy weekend Blogland Neighborhood! Unfortunately it is not a happy weekend for the people of Haiti. The images on TV are heartbreaking and make us feel helpless. Today while blog hopping, Kitty stumbled upon Craft Hope, a really great blog hosted by 3 gals who organize crafters to benefit all sorts of good causes. Over the past few days, these gals have been working to set up Craft Hope for Haiti Etsy Shop with proceeds going to help Doctors Without Borders so they can help the people of Haiti. We can all help out too by either donating a handmade item to the Etsy shop or by shopping there.

OK crafters/knitters/crocheters/sewers/stitchers/shoppers ..... START YOUR ENGINES and ZOOM over to CRAFT HOPE !!!!!

AHEM !!! CLEAN THIS UP !!!!!!!

Good morning Blogland Neighborhood !!! Well, Kitty is in a snit ..... seems this morning while making her rounds and inspecting all departments she got stuck in the hub cap deep pine needles under the dying/dead Christmas tree in the living room and DEMANDED an explanation!!!


......she called for the MBIAJ Christmas Clean Up Dept to come front and center and EXPLAIN themselves !!!


...."well, we decided to give ourselves the MONTH of January to "de-Christmas" the house and try and get our New Year act together ." ....and with that explanation, they referenced Miss Joanna over at Fresh Figs who says it's OK to take the whole month of January!!! (only the MBIAJ Christmas Clean Up Dept feel they may need an extention into Febuary or March .....)

The dirtbike riding chef's homemade sticky buns....

Happy chilly Saturday afternoon Blogland Neighbor-hood ! Since it was too cold to be out riding today, Evan, our resident dirtbike riding chef, wearing his dirtbike fabric chef hat (but not the dirtbike fabric chef apron since the MBIAJ Sewing Dept did not finish it in time for Christmas) decided to whip up some VERY yummy sticky buns. However, BEFORE the mess in the kitchen was cleaned up......



.....our chef had left the building ....unable to be cooped up for very long, he decided to go outside and ride his mountain bike in the snow, while Matt, his dirtbike riding brother, who has been living on .....



....this stuff for the past week (poor tummy).....

...felt well enough to shoot a few bottle rockets out the living room doors at him.... (and therefore, we feel no explanation needed for our increasing amounts of gray hair ...... we've EARNED them !!!!)

MBIAJ New Year's rituals ......

Happy 2nd day of 2010 Blogland Neighborhood !!! We here at MBIAJ Headquarters aren't very good at New Year's Resolutions ..... we're too lazy and that just sounds like too much work ..... however, we do have our little New Year's rituals every year, for example....


.....filling out a fun new calendar and wondering what's waiting ahead in the new year (hopefully it's all good !) AND.......






once again trying to figure out what the heck we should do with our hair .....
